EX-EMPLOYEE | | | Every time a leading engineering company launched a new engineering device, their competitor, who was also an ex employee, who had worked in their development and drawing department, arrived at their clients ahead of them with a similar improved product. Once again a background study of the staff in that department of OF&A's client, revealed that a specific draughtsman always worked overtime and also visited the premises regularly over weekends. |
| | | Telephone records were checked by OF&A and it was established that during such times he was occupied in long conversations with the said ex-employee and even faxed documents to him. This information enabled the ex-employee to improve on their designs and approach their clients before them. A financial investigation also proved that the draughtsman had been handsomely rewarded for his unethical conduct and that he was about to go and join the ex-employee in business. A covert surveillance camera installed in the relevant area by OF&A's technical division, gave them further evidence to confront the draughtsman who confessed to everything. Appropriate remedial litigation was taken against the ex-employee, who paid up and then left the country. |
